First day of school

So much has happened the last few months that I don’t even know where to begin or how much to say. The most consuming part was having my thyroid removed and finding out I had bilateral papillary cancer in it. My struggling brain is still trying to process the fact that cancer was growing in me for probably ten years and it was only by the intervention of God that my doctors found it since we weren’t looking for it at all.

And while half of me is stuck on feeling betrayed by my body, the other half hugs my kids and watches them through grateful tears that we caught it before it spread and I can still be here and be their mommy.

And then I want to write and record more of them and who they are right now, but it hurts my brain so much and drains my tiny, tiny amount of stamina… (I officially feel like a woman from a Regency novel with a weak constitution who can hardly do anything. Those people are real!) So then I feel sad about being so limited, but if I push through it and lean more on the Lord, I’m able to put together a little post and boy, does it feel good.

Everyone has started school now and though it was in the midst of construction workers and electricians all over our property for weeks and then being on my own during the worst of it when Charming was out of town for the first time since COVID shutdowns, I was still very grateful to be starting school from the comfort of our own home for the second year in a row. This is a great tradition!

So without further ado, here they are: First Day of School Pictures for 2021!

Adorable Woobas: Baby school!
Princess Muffins: Last year of preschool!
Mr. Joo-Jee Pants: Second grade!
Sweet Potatoes: Fifth grade!
Sir Boots: Seventh grade!
The Bubbers King: Ninth grade!

Here’s to a wonderful school year together! I love you all so much!!

About Heidi

Hello! My name is Heidi. I went to college and got a couple degrees. Then I worked as a Speech-language Pathologist for two years until Bubbers came along. While I loved my job and working with kids, I love my job as a mom best. I started a blog because I love to write. I’ve written stories my whole life. Deep down inside my heart, I secretly dream to be published in paper someday. Until then, I’m publishing for y’all and hope you enjoy it! Here are a few of my latest posts...
