Snapshot of Boots 2011: 2 1/2 years old

I love to perform and make people laugh!! My enthusiasm, sense of humor, vocal imitation skills and the way I use my body to perform funny dances, poses, stunts, games and facial expressions is absolutely amazing!

Mommy’s favorites are:

1) My “pants dance” where I hike up my pants, open my eyes wide in a funny face and jump or run lickety-split through the house

2) When I fall on the ground with a dramatic, “Aoh!” and strike a pose

3) When I peek around corners pretending to hunt like Huey

4) When I drape my Libbit over my head, hold out my arms and declare in a spooky voice, “Dere’s a ghost among us!”

5) When I press my forehead to hers, look deeply into her eyes and solemnly sing, “Trust in meee! Close your eeeeyes! And chust in meeee!”

I love people! And I love my family with an intensity near apoplexy. I remember and include everyone (even Daddy’s carpool buddy, Dan!) and I love to be included. I love Baby Potatoes with an unrestrained in-his-face-making-him-blink-confusedly enthusiasm! I love “hand shakes” with Bwuduh and “alone time” with Daddy!

I love to pray! If a prayer is spoken in our home, I insist that it include: “Bless Daddy come home. Dive safe wif Dan.” Even if Daddy is already home and saying the prayer himself, both of these things must be included in the prayer or I will keep interrupting with a reminder until they are said!

In my free time, I love to run laps around the house wildly brandishing a “sword” (train track, rubber spatula, plastic shovel) with Bwuduh in hot pursuit. I also love pretending scenarios with Mommy and Bwuduh, our trampoline, playhouse, play kitchen, picking out new books to read, Goofy, Mickey, Donald, wearing pants with pockets and putting my hands in them, Disney Golden books and picking fresh fruit and peas!

My speech, language and cognitive skills are astounding. I amazed Mommy with my accurate /l/ at 18 months and “Why?” and “Where?’ questions and elaborate utterances and stories now. I adorably recite The First Article of Faith, count items up to 12 and started reading lessons. My favorite part of my storytime lessons with Mommy are the Matt and Molly stories at the end!

I still have a voracious appetite and I am very big and very strong. I’m unbelievably sweet, polite, thoughtful, observant and affectionate. I’m getting much better at controlling my impulses.

It’s important to me to follow routines, test boundaries, do things on my own and be allowed to choose to do things on my own. Mommy and I have worked very, very hard this year and I’m so much better at controlling my impulses and frustration.

Mommy loves our snuggles, being silly and laughing together, my solemnity in time-outs, how much I laugh at the Cinderella mice, my wondrously loving, sweet and kind heart and my adorable chub.

Daddy loves how much fun he has with me. He loves wrestling, tickling and reading books to me. When we talk and play, Daddy always has a smile on his face. He’s so proud of me!
