“Mommy, when is Jesus coming?” Bubbers asked from his car seat as I was wrestling a stroller out of the back of the car for an impromptu park play date.

“Oof!” I grunted as I got it out and set it down on the pavement.

“I don’t know,” I finally responded to my son, “Nobody knows except Heavenly Father…  That’s why we always need to be ready for Him.”

Almost immediately, Bubbers called out, “I’m ready!!”

I smiled at his unexpected response.

Then I cocked my head and said, “I’m ready, too!”
