Surprisingly fulfilling…

027

Watching my children play in the backyard continues to be one of my favorite pastimes.

030

It’s hard to imagine a time when they weren’t turning a picnic lunch into an art session.

But having a new little one old enough to join in the fun reminds me…

017

… That they couldn’t always drive the tractor…

014

… Or get on and off the tramp by themselves…

001

… And it reminds me to stop, smile, take a deep breath and let that “all is right with the world” feeling fill my heart.

*Ah*

There’s nothing in the world like it!

And you know the only thing that makes it better?

Throwing in some chickens.

Kids and chickens.

Who on earth knew it could be so fulfilling???

Henceforth and forever

Yes!  It is time to give new names to my little wigglers.

New names that are the real nicknames we are currently using.   That way, I can ease the load on my neurons as they try to fire and retrieve the correct name for each child– no matter if I’m talking, tweeting or blogging.

Also, I wanted to even out the royal ranking. :)

Thank you for understanding!

I now dub thee: Sir Brother

Boots started calling him “Broda” a few months before Baby was born and it has stuck.  Now we all call him Brother and I like it. :)

I now dub thee: Sir Boots

He’s still Boots around here, so he gets to keep his name the same. :)

I now dub thee: Sir Baby

Yes, henceforth and forever, we will call him Baby.  Or.  Until Boots thinks up a different name for him and then I’ll change it. :)

And there you have it!

Brother, Boots and Baby.

Now, if Boots come across a “lamily” picture and stops to label it (one of his many adorable pastimes), you will know exactly who he’s talking about!

Or.

If he stubs a toe and comes to tell you which one he stubbed, you’ll understand him when he says, “Mommy Toe!” or “Broda Toe!” or “Baby Toe!”

Hey everyone!! Guess WHAT?!

P1320746

Mommy’s making her morning smoothie, so we’re all wearing our headphones.

P1320750

And while she does that, I need to tell you my news… I have a new name!!

It is: Sir Boots

P1320752

“Why is that?” you ask.

P1320751

Well, I’ll tell you! A while back, my Daddy made up a funny nonsense song about me that went…

“He’s boots, he’s boots, he’s boots… He’s scooty-toots! Na, na, na, na, na, na, na!”

For some reason, the song stuck. And pretty soon Bubbers was singing it to all our friends.

P1320734

“Yep! That’s right!”

P1320736

And after THAT, we were ALL singing it.

P1320767

And then one day, I started calling myself “Boots”. And now, that’s all I say.

“Boots do it”
“Boots turn”
“Boots libbit” (that’s what I call my special blanket)
“Boots want it”
“Boots”
“Boots”
“Boots”

P1320772

And quite frankly, it’s absolutely adorable.  So now, it’s official.  I am: Sir Boots!

P1320770

And now Mommy’s done and it’s time to eat!

Love,

Sir Boots

Mommy asked me to pretend to say a prayer. To show y’all how distractingly adorable I am when I pray. And when I peek. :):)
