What makes my life easier: Diapers on my doorstep

August 8th, 2011

When my mobility was impaired with my last pregnancy, I seriously considered getting a handicapped parking placard for my car.  Walking was so laborious for me, I began to look longingly at those parking spots in front.  I knew I could get a placard application signed by my OB, but my friend told me you had to take it into the DMV to get the actual placard and the thought was just exhausting.  So I stuck it out and was frequently blessed with a good parking spot anyway.

And.

I started shopping online for most of the things we needed.  The convenience and sheer ease of it was such a blessing!!  And before long, I was using it so much that Amazon.com officially earned a bookmark on my browser’s toolbar.

Then sweet Baby was born and my mobility was still impaired. And I now had three kids to juggle on my shopping trips and less room in my Costco cart. So, I decided to check out “Amazon Mom”. Another friend told me about it and how much she loved it, so I thought I’d see how it works.

And then.

I fell in love.

Because now, all I have to do is open my door…

… And there they are!!

Diapers and nighttime pull-ups for my three dear children!  And I didn’t have to haul it myself!

I had never thought about buying diapers online because I’d always purchased them from Costco.  But now I am hooked!  There is so much more selection on Amazon and they are so cheap (with free shipping!) with Amazon Mom and Subscribe and Save.  I can get exactly what I want, whenever I want it, with just the click of my mouse.

Wow.

What a blessing!  Thank you, Amazon.  You have definitely made this mom’s life a lot easier!

we got those once when I got a discount coupon in my stuff from the hospital. It was okay, but it didn’t feel like I was saving money because the box was smaller, and it still added up to more per diaper than buying them at Sam’s Club. But, I might reconsider it, as the Sam’s Club is in the city we usually don’t visit, and too much of our income is spent on gas anyway…(It’s 2.5 hours away). I’ll have to think about using it again!
