My birthday cake!! (the play-by-play)
Heidi April 26th, 2010
Hey Everyone–Guess what!?
The day before my 3rd birthday, Mommy and I made my BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!
Ha, ha!! Don’t they look fun!? I picked them out all by myself!
And now it’s time to make it! Uh… whoops… nothing’s coming out of the bag…
The bowl’s still empty!!
Ha! Mommy needed to open it first!
Okay, here we go!
Now it’s time for the water!
*Pour!*
Gotta be careful to get every drop!
Oooh! Now it’s time for the oil!
“Ha, ha! I found the place mats drawer!!!!!”
We’ve gotta be reeeeeeally careful with oil.
Mommy says it could make a real mess if we’re not.
“Ha, ha! I’m stealing a place mat!!!!”
Now it’s time to mix!!!
After that, Mommy put the cakes in the oven.
And truth be told, I was getting a little hungry. So I fixed a snack.
Right between my toes!
Hm… I wonder if this is going to work…
*Munch!*
Ha, ha!! It worked!!
Let’s do that again!
*Munch!*
Hee, hee! I could do this all day!
And wook! My tummy’s getting soooo full!
“I WANT TO EAT CHEERIOS WITH MY TOES, TOOOOOOOOO!!!!”
(“Actually, I just want to eat cheerios. May I have four boxes, please?”)
Oh-ho! Now it’s time for the FROSTING!
(Oh! And don’t worry–Mommy helped me wash my hands really well after all my foot handling). :)
Mommy even got one of these thing-a-ma-bobs…
… To help with the sugar!
*Turrrrrrrn!*
*POOF!!!!*
Ha, ha!
I can’t believe it!
Wook!!
I’m a mess from my head!…
… To my toes!!
Okay, let’s try that again…
[Oh my heavens–my little boy!]
After that, Mommy used food coloring for the very first time in her life. She asked me what color I wanted next and I’d tell her. It was fun!!
Then it was time!
To fill up the coal car!
Mmm! I love jelly bean coal cars!
Oooh!! My first time with sprinkles!!
*Shake-Shake-Shake!*
And wook!
My first time with flower sprinkles, too!
They’re all so nice, it’s hard to choose…
… But choose I must!
Here you go, freight car!
You get a green flower sprinkle all your own!
Ooh, wook!
Wots of green ones!
Awww!
Wook at my cute wittow fingers.
And my cute wittow mouth!
And then!
Daddy came home from work!
Just in time …
… to help with the final touch …
… of putting on the wheels!!
Oh, boy! It’s all coming together!
It’s a real life, honest-to-goodness…
… TRAIN cake!!!!!
Cute cake and cute little boys!
What a cute idea for a train cake! Good job Bubbers! :)
Adorable!! I once tried to make a train cake for Sam’s birthday (he insisted it be pink, to boot). Mine did not turn out nearly as well as yours! Can’t go wrong with funfetti though:)
That was an awesome train cake, especially all of the fun interaction in creating it. I don’t think I could ever eat Cheerios between my toes, even at 3, Wow!
Cute the cake looks great and glad you had such a fun time making it.
