My Trip, Part 1 (by the Bubbers King)
Heidi April 22nd, 2009
Hello my friends.
I hope it’s okay, but I’m going to take over my Mom’s blog for the next little while to tell you about my trip.
I went on my very first airplane ride.
Just me and my Mom.
And to be honest, I think it’s going to take my Mom a while to recover.
For example…..
This was the best picture she got of me on my first plane ride.
I think at this moment in time she was relieved that she hadn’t lost me in the airport, but suddenly preoccupied about not going into labor 10,000 feet above the ground.
And then all of a sudden she got worried that we’d all blow up.
So she hugged me really tight during take off and was definitely more scared than I was.
She’s been on lots of flights before, but never with me. And she said that made her feel really vulnerable.
But we survived!
And then I got to meet Daddy’s Grandpa!
He was really, really sweet and picked us up at the airport with his wife.
They played with me and made me smile.
But I wouldn’t let them hold me, so Mommy had to hold me for our picture.
Then he and some of Daddy’s other wonderful relatives drove us to Mommy’s family.
To stay at her sister’s house, who was hosting us and Mommy’s other sister…..
….. And Mommy’s parents.
But I still wouldn’t let anyone touch me.
So I sat on my baby brother.
A lot.
I also saw some of my cousins.
And sometimes I’d let them touch me and Mommy would sigh with relief because it was so helpful.
And they let me play in their backyard on their toys.
I loved the mountains and talked about them a lot.
Mommy loved them, too, and said this is what a desert looks like.
And then…..
….. I met Buddy.

Bubbers I love you sharing your 1st plane ride with us.
Looks like a fun trip! Glad you got to spend some time with your family!
Welcome back. Looking forward to the rest!
Congratulations on your first plane trip, Bubbers! It looks like there are some exciting stories yet to be told…
Sounds like you both had an adventure! Can’t wait to hear the rest. :)
And Heidi, I have the exact same safety harness – I’ve used it with each of my kids (and continue to w/ Lizzy sometimes). What a sanity-saver! :)
It was so great to see you and Bubbers on this trip (even if he wouldn’t let me hold him!)
