Halloween Night (by the Bubbers King)
Heidi November 24th, 2008

Hey, y’all!
I’d like to tell you about a very special night.
Halloween Night.
Last year, I had a really cute costume, but I was sick and didn’t get to go anywhere in it.

But this year, Halloween night was different.

This year, my Mom helped me get all dressed up and ready to go.

Oof!

She made sure we didn’t forget my pumpkin.

And then we were ready to go!

[Holy smokes, what a cute little bumble bee!!]

My Mom pointed me in the right direction…..

And I was off!

Our first stop was our wonderful Neighbor Katie’s house.

And as I climbed the stairs, my Mom carefully told me what to do.

“First, you knock on the door,” she explained with unconcealed excitement in her voice.
“Okay,” I said and went toward the door.

Then promptly turned right back around.
“Um,” I smiled up at my Mom, “Would you knock for me, please?”
She smiled back, “Sure, Little Man!”
Then she knocked and we waited.

And all of a sudden Olivia opened the door!

Only she looked like Wonder Woman!
And I didn’t even know who Wonder Woman was!
So I tried to walk inside.
But then she gave me a big hug!

And then my Mom told me to say, “Please.”
“Peease,” I said with a smile and confusion in my eyes.
And then, “Plop!!”
Wonder Woman dropped a bag of candy in my pumpkin!
Then my Mom told me to say, “Thank you.”

“Tank tu,” I smiled with confusion still in my eyes.

Because I had no idea.

What candy was.

“It’s food,” Neighbor Katie explained kindly from the doorway, “You’re supposed to eat it.”
“Yes,” my Mom chimed in, “Take a little bite.”

Hmm, I thought.

And I took a bite.

And I loved it!

From then on, you couldn’t stop me!

Because I had this whole crazy thing figured out.

I buzzed from house to house.

Climbing up stairs.

[And looking super cute!!]

Grabbing my trusty pumpkin.

And knockin’ on doors with more “Peeases” and “Tank tus” than anybody could ask for!

And the whole time we walked, my Mom just loved the sound of my pumpkin thump-thump-thumpin’ against my leg.
With the rustle-rustle-rustle of the candy inside.
Then she couldn’t help herself…..

And just had to squeeze me tight and take a picture of us.
And after we’d hit all the neighbors.

It was time to head back home.

And get down to bidness.

Oh yeah.

Animal crackers were meant to be eaten a whole zoo at a time.

Because that’s what Halloween Night’s all about…..

Right??

Well, I’ll catch you later.
Thanks for stopping by!

p.s. My Mom made me put those last pictures in because she loves my cute legs.
And arms.
And the way I hook my feet together when I sit cross-legged.
And the one single mole I have on my left arm.
–
p.p.s. We missed you, Daddy, but we’re glad you’re working so hard at school so you can take good care of us!
–
p.p.s.s. Thank you Uncle Brett and Aunt Jenica for the costume!
–
p.p.p.s.s. Here’s a clip my Mom took while we were Peease-and-Tank-tuing:

p.p.p.s.s.s. Here’s another clip my Mom just had to take of my pumpkin thumpin’ against my leg while we walked:

Boots, Brother and Baby! :):)

Adorable! Another wonderful story in the life of the bubbers king! I just love those pictures of Olivia and him, they are precious! I will never forget watching him try the candy corns for the first time! Too cute!
I love it!! Cutest lil’ bumblebee toddler ever! His candy face is priceless.
What a sweet little voice he has!
How cute. JOsh was the same: very cautious and uncertain at first, then very excited about trick or treating!
TOO CUTE!! I just love his costume! And those pics of him trying to climb up the front step at your neighbor’s house were totally priceless. What a fun evening you had. And thanks for the clips – his little voice is so sweet. :)
How fun! I couldn’t get the sound clips to work for some reason. I’ll have to try again later. :(
