Name that tune?

Hello dear readers!

I am in desperate need of your expert help.  You see, there’s a song I’m looking for that Charming and I just know we’ve heard in a dramatically romantic movie or movie trailer, but for the life of us we can’t figure out which movie/trailer it’s from!

We tried humming it into those “name that song” websites, but they keep coming up with the strangest results and I’m beginning to think 1) Either they’re pulling my leg and just pretending to “search” for my song or 2) We’re not humming what we think we’re humming.

So I was just about to give up all hope of ever finding it when I realized I could ask for your help!

By chance, do any of you know the name of this song or what movie/movie trailer it’s from?  [Click here]

(And am I the only one visualizing violins and a cheesy romantic couple running towards each other on a beach?)

If you do know this song, you will be saving me from endless distraction and I’ll forever be in your debt!

Thank you!!

Heidi  :)

  1. Not giving us much to go by :) but my best guess would be the main theme from “Somewhere in Time” starring Christopher Reeve — which is Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Let me know if I’m right!

  2. To me, it sounds like the Fatasy Overture from Romeo and Juliet by Tchaikovsky. Some of my favorite bars of music are from the last moments of that overture. Not the main theme which is undoubtedly the part you are hearing behind the cheesy couple running towards each other, but at the very end, the bassoon has this little appearance that is so subtle and lovely. Ahh.

  3. @Heidi: Oh, what a romantic song!!! That’s not quite it, but oh–I just love it!! Thank you so much for your help!
