There’s always something magical about the first snow of the season that makes me feel like a child again.
I can’t help but smile and excitement floats on the air with every snowflake.
But rather than grabbing a hat and coat to go frolic in the snow like I did as a child, now I grab my camera and go sleuthing for pretty pictures.
I went to the front yard and looked around.
As I turned here and there, snapping pictures and enjoying the quiet beauty that surrounds a snowstorm, I suddenly and unexpectedly found my mailbox to be a thoroughly romantic subject!
Wow, I loved my mailbox before, but now I loved it even more.
This kind of mailbox symbolizes a true home to me.
Our old mailboxes never quite cut it for me. There’s something very un-homey to me about mass metal boxes that require a key to get your mail.
So when we bought our home, this mailbox was one of my favorite parts of it!
Now I can look out my front window and sigh.
I have a real mailbox now. All is well with the world.
Little did I realize that my homey mailbox could also be oh-so romantic in the dim light of a snow storm.
Mmm.
Now all I need is a blanket, a hot cup of cocoa and my Prince Charming to snuggle by our fire and enjoy the view.
Great post, Love! The pictures look great!
Love the pictures. Your completely right about mailboxes. Very romantic. Very homey.
GREAT PICS HEIDI!
What kind of camera do you have? I am dying to get a SLR….someday….
-Later!
I like the mailbox too. The snow is beautiful! Your camera captured it much better than mine did.
Thank you everyone–I’m so glad you enjoyed the pictures! :)

Lisa: My camera is a Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D by Canon. I absolutely love it, but in all honesty, I don’t know anything about it. My husband did all the research and found it on Craigslist for me and now I’m just messing around with it until I have time to read more about it. :)
Nice snow pictures! The snow didn’t stick around for very long, did it? I hope you all fared well through the flooding and wind storms.
Thanks for the pictures. We very rarely get snow down here in the South so it was nice to visit it thru pictures. Beautiful!!!
Apple: Thanks for visiting and posting a comment again! I’m so glad you liked the pictures. How’s the weather down South? :)
